This is mostly because I have been having trouble keeping up with classes and I have been spending more time in the art building on campus. I started the semester with 17 credit hours. Five 3-credit hour classes and two 1-credit hour classes. One of those one-credit hour classes was marching band. the other was a "field experience" class for history majors. I dropped marching band after the first week of school because my asthma was getting really, really bad. As in wheezing from walking to the bathroom and back, which is really sad when you consider that my dorm room is right next to the bathroom. I dropped the field experience class in the middle of October, because the work load was beginning to get to me. Sure I could have stopped working for the school newspaper for a while, but since that actually brings in money...
Did I mention that I'm double majoring in studio art: jewelry/metals emphasis and liberal arts history now? (definitely not teaching history. I don't think that I have the patience to put up with the kids.) I added the lovely history major the week before classes started. It's really messed up my intended schedule for the next few years...not to mention this semester.
The classes I'm still taking this semester are:
Ah, classes. The latter three have heavy reading workloads, with the occasional heavy writing. (the Intro to History class, our final is a freakin' 12-page-single-spaced research paper! my topic is public suicide off such monuments as the Empire State Building.) jewelry & metals is an art class, so heavy time investment is required.
All in all, I've truly enjoyed all the classes I've been taking this semester, even the ones I dropped. I probably could have managed things...but might've ended up in the hospital due to an asthma attack & I'd rather avoid that if possible.
I am currently trying to figure out my schedule for next semester. It looks like I'm not going to be able to fit in a studio class (especially since 5-6 classes I would like to take, academic and studio alike, ALL START AT 2PM!) but I will get through as many history classes as I can. (I may end up taking both sections of United States History and Humanities III at the same time. If you never learned to read Roman Numerals, then DEAL WITH IT! preferably by looking them up and memorizing the system. it'll be good for you.)
This coming summer I intend to study abroad, probably in Scotland since a program there offers 2-4 courses in the space of 4-8 weeks and it looks like, finance wise, it'd be about the same as a semester here. Anyways, I will post a separate journal with all my EMO problems... namely the social side of my life since school started.
Hope everyone's doing well!

docs said I should be fine by Christmas...XD
